He has the rank of Sandan (3 dan) in Aikido awarded by Ichiro Shishiya Sensei (6. Dan), long time student of Shoji Nishio Sensei, 8. Dan, Hombu Dojo, Tokyo, Japan. He also hold a Shodan (1 dan) grade in Aiki toho Iai, the iaido style of Nishio Sensei.
He also has studied Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu with Shihan Antonino Certa, the Overseas Director of the of the Nihon Daito Ryu Aikibudo Daito Kai.
He has been studying aikido and related martial arts for over fifteen years. He is an American, presently living and working in Prague, Czech Republic.
